Playing Card Difference : Air-Cushion, Linoid, Cambric Finish

Well, good night everyone. Roy Rain here.Okay, from my first and my second post it took a lot of time since i done have time or idea what to write. Tonite i'm gonna write about something we commonly known when we look at a playing card, we gonna take a look for its finish and what the difference between the Air-Cushion, Linoid, and Cambric Finishes. I ask a lot of people about the finishes and almost every time i got the same answer, it has no different between all the finishes.

Until i found out there's a lot of different between every finishes and it makes every playing cards different. Well, here we go for our review about the finishes of each deck, i will write about 3 decks that globaly use for magician all over the world, they're Bicycle represents the Air-Cushion finish, Tally-Ho for a Linoid Finish, and Bee for the Cambric Finish.

1. Air-Cushion Finish
This finish is use for all kind of standart bicycle produce from USPCC. Bicycle is one of the most commonly used deck for magician all over the world, not only magician, but for a home game, they used bicycle to. Basiclly Air-Cushion is a "pocket" of air, and it works to absorb shock. Air-Cushion is commonly used at Truck or another vehicles, For example, when a truck is climbing a mountain, it uses shocks to help absorb the "Shock" of the bouncing. This is where Air-Cushion comes into play. The air cusioning helps the shocks to absorb the "Bounce", and gives the vehicle extra spring.
Same goes for Bicycle Cards. They Bicycle cards are manufactured with an air-cushion. If you notice in a new pack when first opened, you can see groups of 10 cards at a time, divided
with a slightly different colour in the breaks. This is the air-cushion. All this does is give the Bicycles that extra "spring" when performing magic or flourishes.

2. Linoid Finish
Tally-Ho is one of the best playing cards that ever made, basically Linoid is a life extender. it adds extra coats to playing card to prevent them from being sticky, It also help us when we doing
fan and something like that, so dont be surprised when you found your Tally-Ho last longer than your Bicycle, they both have their own differents.

3. Cambric Finish
Bee is a famous deck of playing card, they commonly used in a casino all over the world. What i got from googling is cambric is a cotton material. they usually found in a very expensive sheets. that's why Bee seem to be softer than the other playing card ( this is my opinion ). Cambric allows cards to be bent more, without giving to much damage to the cards. The Cambric in my opinion seems to absorb alot pressure on the cards, to make for a better shuffle.

i want to let you knows more about this finish, but this is what i got. I hope this information help you to know what finishes you need to use for your own routine whether it is flourishes or magic. and if you know much better than me, please let me knows.

Thank You
